Time for another installment of Ask Retraction Watch. Today’s query comes from a postdoc:
I have a question regarding publications in different languages: Can I publish the same identical data in two different languages? Would this be considered duplication?
Take our poll, and comment below.
I voted "no" and here is my comment:
I wanted to send the same paper to Economic Inquiry (formerly, the Western Economic Journal) and the Southern Economic Journal, thinking that those who read the SEJ didn't really understand the language of Econ Ink. I was then informed, by an expert, that the "language" of the South is really more of a dialect. Dang!
I didn't really leave that comment at Retraction Watch, but wanted to.
*Just add ya'll to any sentence and see how southern you sound.
