One thing the obit leaves out is Dr. Stober's positive impact on graduate students. He taught my first graduate micro, the "welcome to grad school" course. As one of my friends from that class said, "he had a big impact on our lives."Colleagues, friends, and generations of both undergraduate and graduate students at the Department of Economics at the University of Kentucky mourn the death of William J. Stober. Bill served as department chair for twelve years and fundamentally shaped the department into one focused on the highest quality of scholarship. His legacy as chair lives on today, and will continue into the indefinite future.
