From the inbox:
My wife and I are going to Lexington in October to check out some of the Bourbon trail, horse racing, etc. Any recommendations on things to do, good restaurants (but not super expensive), etc would be great! I am assuming you guys both lived there at least at some point in your lives and may visit for ballgames?
My reply:
Isn't horse racing and the bourbon trail enough?
Since I was poor and in my early to mid-twenties when I lived there, the only places that immediately come to mind are bars and pizza. A quick google says that Joe Bologna's and Lynaugh's (get an O'Round) are still good. A bit more pricey is Dudley's (I was a painter the first summer after school at the original location).
Any other suggestions?
Note: The "first summer after school" was the summer in between college and graduate school. I took Math Econ to try to get ready for my first semester and earned a C+. That is not a great start.
