The Tolezo Zoo has a new walkway designed to harness the power of the sun while providing visitors with shade.
The SolarWalk dedicated Tuesday features a canopy of more than 1,400 solar panels expected to supply 104,000 kilowatt hours of power each year. Officials say the walkway, which includes an interactive kiosk, will help the zoo cut its yearly carbon footprint by the amount put out by 15 medium-size cars.
