... in Orlando for the NMFS Economics and Social Science Workshop. I'm presenting a little paper that turned out completely different than how it started (yes, the original was crappy). As a result, for the first time in my semi-professional career, I arrived at a conference without my presentation completed. Settling into my room at 9:30 pm last night (after a $46 cab ride and a terrifying journey through the maze of the Loews Portofino Hotel) I wondered if I might not could get it done (that's how I talk after a couple of beers ...). A couple of beers and room-service pizza said otherwise so I finished a draft last night about the same time the 49ers shocked the Saints (who were recently declared Super Bowl winners) and then I was able to watch the Saints shock the 49ers. Right now, I'm playing hooky and missing the awards presentations to clean things up for my 1 pm talk. But it can't hurt to take a break and post the next-to-final draft (note: my co-authors haven't seen this so don't tell them it is posted). Click Download Whitehead NESS 9-21-10 for a peek.
Travel note: Hey dude in 42E on the Atlanta to Orlando Delta flight, do you really need the armrest and a couple spillover inches in my space?
