Here are my top 12 albums of 2009 based on the weak axiom of revealed preference*. To qualify, the CD must be purchase. The relative rankings reflects the approximate number of listenings adjusted for length of possession (the first link is to the band's site, the second is to some sort of review).

In parentheses is the ranking from the No Depression's top 50 albums. An excelelnt x-mas gift would be anything on No D's list that is not on mine.
