In conclusion:
... despite the President’s compelling words, I agree with the Washington Post’s editorial today
which calls for a narrowing of the recovery legislation to the
short-term goal of providing a quick and effective boost to the level
of economic activity. Because in its current form, there’s a tradeoff
between the short-term and longer-term merits of the entire,
deficit-financed policy package–and that tradeoff is unnecessary.
