I was interviewed by Brian Roger last Friday at noon causing me to miss my lunchtime basketball game (Green Jobs: Now You See Them, Now You Don't):

We interviewed John Whitehead a couple of days before the inauguration on a subject that’s on many people’s minds these days: green jobs. John, whose posts have been a feature of The Energy Collective for some time, has taught economics for about 20 years (currently at Appalachian State University). He started blogging three years ago with Tim Haab in an effort to educate those not well-versed in economics. Their views can be found at Environmental Economics. 

“We don’t think we’re changing the world,” says John, “but we have been surprised by the demand.” Their web site -- 3,000 posts later – receives 1,000 hits a day, he says. 

In this interview, John explores the promise of green jobs in the next decade. The lack of any consensus on what exactly is a “green job” is one of John’s concerns. He also worries that the multiplier used by Christina Romer, chair designate of the Council of Economic Advisors, will result in less than 2 million jobs, not the touted 5 million.
