Want to waste a little time? The Center for Global Development has put together an interactive database with pretty pictures and maps of carbon hotspots (really just powerplants, but there's a high correlation). It's called CARMA--CARbon Monitoring for Action, catchy, eh. Unfortunately there's not a lot of information on costs, profits, local benefits, relative abatement costs or anything that might help figure out how to reduce emissions...but, hey, the big red dots sure look menacing.
