Have you gotten too big for your britches when you say something like this (emphasis added)?
Still, although both Post reporter Shankar Vendantam and the cited economist, Rick Nevin (whom I’d never heard of), appear quite convinced by the time-series data, I am not.

Note that the post reads perfectly fine without the cheap shot at the little guy. Speaking for all little guys in the big pond, I'd like to leave a comment ("Why does it matter if you've never heard of him? Does that automatically invalidate the research effort?") but I can't figure out how to login. I registered long ago, have forgotten my password and can't figure out how to retrieve it.
And with this post, I hereby declare, I will never get another* paper published in the Journal of Political Economy ("One of the oldest and most prestigious journals in economics ...").
*Note: I wrote "another" as a joke since I've never had a real paper in the JPE and never will. To avoid confusion, Tim, Ju-Chin Huang and myself have a comment in the JPE. A comment is not a real paper, yet it is my #3 ranked citations generator. Thanks Tim!
