On my summer trip to Kentucky, my college roommate and accountant (let's call him "Tom") told me that his younger sister fussed at him about his big cars and their negative environmental impact. He doesn't much care either way, but she was impressed with the DriveNeutral sticker. I was fed for free at the country club so as payback I went to DriveNeutral (our only real sponsor) and offset his carbon. Using the baseline numbers (12,000 miles per year) and a relatively new (2004) big truck (F150, not what he drives but it has got to be close), the cost is $59:
Item Description: Tier 3
2004 FORD F150 PICKUP 2WDCertificate:
Quantity: 1
Tons: 6.0
Amount Per Item: $59.00
Sub Total: $59.00
Ouch! I hope me and my kids ate enough hamburgers and ribs to justify THAT.
Update: Here is the PDF certificate.
