Following up on John's post yesterday on cigarette taxes in North Carolina, here's a story on a new proposed federal tax on cigars--raising the current tax from $.05 to as much as $10 per cigar.
As part of an increase in tobacco taxes designed to pay for children's health insurance, the nickel-per-cigar tax that has ruled the industry could rise to as much as $10 per cigar.
