Ok, I'm a slacker. I promised updates and failed miserably. I will have a complete summary of the RFF (the environmental group) Frontiers Conference later in the week. Trust me, it will be well worth the wait. But first, some internet access frustration...
Here's a quick summary of the internet access I had while visiting the Capitol capital of the most developed country in the documented history of the universe.
- The airport in Columbus, Ohio, the sixteenth largest city in the U.S. offers free wifi.
- The Beacon Hotel in Washington, D.C. offers 'high speed' internet access for $12 per day--and it requires an ethernet cable--which I had to borrow at the front desk, because who the heck carries their own cables anymore?
- The DoubleTree hotel in Washington, D.C. (did I mention this is the
Capitolcapital of the most developed country in the documented history of the universe?) the conference host does not have wifi which stymied my intent to offer a running diary. - Baltimore-Washington Thurgood Marshall International Airport offers wifi for $12.99 PER DAY (do they really expect passengers to be there for a day?).
That about sums up my reasons for not posting more. Oh, and I'm a slacker--did I mention that?
