I feel the need to comment publicly on Tim's most recent post (Why are we fat). During the 1990s Tim was a slim, 185 lb, 5-tool economist destined for the John Bates Clark Medal. But that wasn't enough. In a fit of jealously, perhaps aimed at some more theoretical econometricians, Tim gained an un-natural edge, bulked up to 210 and wrote his own "applied" econometrics book. Upon his move to The Ohio State University and some previously unheard of citation counts, many have commented that his head has increased by a couple of hat sizes. The scandal grows every day. I can only hope that the president of AERE would invoke his "best interests of the profession" powers and require that journal editors reject his paper submissions for life.
Sorry. Just joking. Just couldn't help it.
