If you’re going to dream, you might as well dream big.
That seems to be the thinking among a growing number of Columbus’ business and social titans as they consider who would be a good replacement for retired Ohio State University President E. Gordon Gee.
In addition to the usual academic suspects, a name that’s being tossed about with increasing fervor is former U.S. Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice.
To be fair, Rice knows her way around the hallowed halls of a college campus. She’s a former provost and current professor in the graduate school of business at Stanford University.
Many say she might be just the kind of out-of-the-box leader that Ohio State needs. As to whether she would be interested in the job, Rice has been mum about the rumors.
