The June 29th storm that ripped through the midwest and midatlantic left thousands of homeowners in need of debris removal services. As a result, prices for debris removal increased. Some scream, "Price gouging! How dare you take advantage of an act of nature?!" I scream, "Demand increase! How dare you fight the laws of supply and demand?!"
Leah Myers, owner of Basic Tree Care and Landscaping in Columbus, said the company has been so busy since the storm that it doubled its minimum job cost to $400.
“We wouldn’t stop for something smaller when there’s more money to be made down the street,” Myers said. “It’s a matter of supply and demand.”
