Stolen post title: Drive Less (Fast)

From EEZ Rider:

As a tribute to the guys over at Environmental Economics: It appears that people are not only driving less as a response to rising fuel prices, but they are also driving slower. Low Ee Mien at the Energy Collective has a post on how slowing down will also impact fuel economy for cars, ships, and  planes.

Looks like Env-Econ now needs an additional t-shirt.  Drive Less (Fast)...

Comments

I have been choosing a variant to Drive Less . It is park the Tahoe with the broken transmission in the driveway. It is actually drive much, much less.

John,

What do you expect from an ECU graduate?

Tim,

Every time I see Paul H.'s blog name I can't help recall the old ECU joke: EZU. Although, I'm sure things have changed since we left.

I have to say i drive far less aggressive now when prices are $4 a gallon then i did when gas prices were $1.50 a gallon.

But I think it has more to do with me being in my mid 30s now rather then in my mid 20s.

Drive less will give way to Dont drive at All

Petrol (gas) tanker drivers have been on strike in the UK and one petrol station is selling at 1.99 per litre. This equals nearly $15 per US gallon (ours is bigger than yours!). I am getting into work more quickly but driving more slowly. Also looking out for any statistics on recent changes in speeding tickets and road accidents.
