From Tyler Cohen at Marginal Revolution:
Which do you think takes a bigger toll on the environment, owning a dog, or owning an SUV? My bet would be on the dog. I'm thinking of all of the resources that go into dog food.
Have at it.

As a kid I loved this.
Just digging in the dirt with some match box cars and suddenly a random happy dog shows up you can play with.
When you guys add up the environment costs be sure to put that one as a huge negative. Anything that makes people happy must be bad for the environment.

I don't think Tyler can be serious - at least not without specifying how big the dog is.

JC is (was) clearly glad to find anyone to play with. That explains a lot.
