Irrelevant Quote of Century

I know it has nothing to do with economics or the environment, but how can I pass this up?

"I was severely depressed and felt as if I was in a cage. ... It was a horrible experience."

Paris Hilton to Barbara Walters on her first 2 days of incarceration.

As if you were in cage?  IT'S JAIL!

I say the media should leave it be now.
Giving it far far too much attention.
I also don't think it's appropriate that legal cases should play out in the media - rather than the court room...
unless there has been an enormous travesty of justice.
In this case, that doesn't apply.
Driving under the influence (DUI) or "Drink Driving" here in Britain is socially unacceptable.
No one gives any sympathy to those doing that here. Indeed it's the social stigma that goes along with it that acts as a deterrent as much as anything else. In the States - the celebrity culture seems to get away with it.

Unfortunately Paris - seems to be at the front of this when the law responds with some more (needed) severity.....

Would this be the trivial (and "amusing" story) if she'd have killed someone driving whilst under the influence?????

Why won't you media people* just let me not know who this woman is?

Why?

*yes John, "media people" refers to you also.
